Welcome to the 2011 Consumers Reforming Health Conference, the inaugural international conference for community engagement in health care website. The conference was a great success and ran from 18th - 20th July 2011 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Consumers Reforming Health conference was a conference developed specifically for those with interest in involving consumers in health care, policy and governance. The conference upholds the essential principle that consumer participation is fundamental for health development, clinical governance, community capacity building and health outcomes.

The program aimed to demonstrate and enhance this proposition by exploring the experiences, frameworks and practical strategies of participation in a number of health sectors among a diverse range of relevant stakeholders. It intended to broker some new learnings on core principles for future change.
